Many patients expect gentle procedures and reliable, predictable results when dental implants are pending. Modern 3D implant planning - also called computer-guided implant surgery - is the heart of computer-assisted, minimally invasive implant treatment.
The basis of all 3D planning is modern digital volume tomography (DVT). In principle, DVT technology works like computer tomography (CT), but only images the head and is extremely low in radiation.
Further advantages of computer navigation for patient and dentist: The high-resolution 3D X-ray diagnostics offer an exact insight into all jaw structures, such as teeth, the position of the nerve tracts or the thickness and density of the jaw bones.
On this basis, the position, length and diameter of the dental implants can be planned with millimetre precision and an exact drilling template can be created - prerequisites for minimally invasive surgery at the highest level.
