When it comes to dental implants, the question of material arises: ceramic or titanium?.
Both have clear and overwhelming advantages, but also weak points. That is why a completely new, innovative generation of implants has emerged. Bio-implants are ceramic-coated titanium implants and combine the advantages of both materials.
The titanium bodies are provided with a wafer-thin (approx. 2-5 μm) coating of niobium oxide and zirconium oxide and are thus completely enclosed. The tin or nickel contained in titanium in small quantities can thus not lead to allergies. Titanium intolerance is excluded because the ceramic coating prevents metal ions from fusing ("diffusing") with the bone tissue.
